CAPRI Membership Agreement Signing in the Philippines.

LOS BAÑOS, Philippines — The Center for Indonesian Policy Studies (CIPS) has formally joined the Consortium for Agricultural Policy Research Initiatives (CAPRI), a regional platform for collaborative, evidence-based agricultural policy research.

For CIPS, this participation provides new opportunities to collaborate with leading research organizations in the region, conduct comparative policy research, and exchange knowledge on issues affecting food security, climate resilience, rural development, and agricultural transformation.

The membership agreement was signed by CIPS Chief Executive Officer Anton Rizki Sulaiman on April 28, 2026, during CAPRI’s onboarding workshop hosted by the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) in Los Baños, Philippines.

The workshop brought together agricultural policy research institutions from across

Southeast Asia, alongside representatives from regional and international organizations, to

strengthen cooperation on shared policy challenges.

As one of the founding signatories, CIPS represents Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening agricultural policy research and contributing to comparative evidence generation, ASEAN-level policy discussions, and coordinated agricultural policies across the region.

Other founding signatories included institutions from Lao PDR, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. Additional institutions expected to confirm membership include Brunei Darussalam’s Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS), Singapore’s S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Malaysia’s Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), Cambodia’s Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI), Thailand’s Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), and the Philippines’ Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS).

Through CAPRI, CIPS will work with regional partners to deepen research collaboration and contribute to policy solutions for agricultural and food system challenges in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The partnership supports CIPS’ broader goal of advancing evidence-based policies that contribute to a free and prosperous Indonesia.
