What is the InternCIPS Program?
InternCIPS is a CIPS internship program for university students or fresh graduates who want to gain professional work experience in one of the Top Think Tanks in the Asia Pacific.
This program will give you the idea of working in a think tank as a whole, with the main task of helping the research department write and analyze policy papers. You will be dealing with data interpreting, reviewing the literature, collecting data, and communicating with the relevant persons in policymakers and other stakeholders.
Besides research, you will also get to experience a policy advocating process and support CIPS in organizing events and outreach activities.
Registration for InternCIPS Program batch August 2026 - January 2027 will be open on July 1, 2026.
Research Interns
Responsibilities:

You will be working within the research department, especially in writing and analyzing policy papers.
-
You will be dealing with data interpreting, reviewing the literatures, collecting data, transcribing interviews, summarizing papers, and communicating with relevant people such as policymakers and other stakeholders.

You will gain an understanding of how to conduct research, write a policy brief, and obtain a deeper understanding of the analysis of current issues from the perspective of public policy.

Conducting daily media monitoring.
Who can apply:

Young, proactive, creative, and self starter individuals between the age of 18 and 25.

Fluent in English (both speaking and writing).

Communications Intern
Responsibilities:
-
Working closely with CIPS' Digital & Content Specialist, Outreach & Partnership Specialist, and Content Creator with copywriting, reporting, and support in managing CIPS’ social media and websites.

Working closely with the Event & Communications Officers, Media & Communications Officer to do copywriting and events preparation.
-
Conducting daily media monitoring.
Who can apply?

Interested in communications for social impact through public policy research and advocacy.

Passionate in writing and content creation

Basic knowledge of digital content production

Aware with the most recent issues/trending topics, willing to learn, brainstorm, and share it with the team

Can work in a team, and possesses strong self-leadership and initiative.

Graphic Design Intern
Responsibilities:
-
Work directly with CIPS’ Graphic Designer to create and design social media visual, website images, and other promotional materials.

Work closely with Events Team to document events
-
Work closely with the social media team to create video content, particularly for TikTok.

Conduct daily media monitoring.
Who can apply?

Young, proactive, creative, and self starter individuals between the age of 18 and 25.
-
Basic understanding of fundamental design principles, typography, and color theory.
-
Basic skills in photo editing, vector design, and layout using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and preferably InDesign.
-
Basic understanding of printing processes and print production requirements is preferred.
-
Able to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, take initiative, and demonstrate strong self-management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Talent and Culture Intern
Responsibilities:

You will be working within the Talent and Culture Department, especially in administering HRGA Administration tasks, HR database management, onboarding facilitation, employer branding initiative, managing emails, organizing interviews with shortlisted candidates.

Assisting the Talent and Culture Officer in managing CIPS’ General Affairs.
-
Assisting in the planning of company events.

Conducting daily Media Monitoring
Who can apply?

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Content Creator Intern
Responsibilities:
-
Participate in content ideation sessions, draft concise scripts, and develop video concepts aligned with current digital trends.
-
Serve as on-camera talent (optional / if comfortable) or direct short-form videos that are aesthetically engaging and interactive.
-
Edit video content using mobile applications (such as CapCut, or native TikTok/Instagram editors) to ensure concise and engaging delivery.
-
Schedule content uploads, draft optimized captions and hashtags, report on the channel’s performance, and actively monitor comment sections to foster audience engagement.

Conducting daily media monitoring.
Who can apply?
-
Young, proactive, creative, confident, and self-starter individuals between the ages of 18 and 25.
-
Possessing a deep understanding of Gen Z culture with comprehensive knowledge of digital trends, internet memes, trending audio, and the TIkTok/Instagram algorithms.
-
Fluent in English (both speaking and writing).
-
Has the ability to work in a team or independently.
-
Highly organized and has strong attention to detail.
-
Fully committed to joining the program for a minimum of 6 months, 8 hours/day, with flexible working hours, from Monday to Friday
-
An active social media content creator (possessing a personal portfolio or active public accounts is highly advantageous).
-
Possesses a keen interest in and curiosity about Social, Economic, and Public Policy Issues in Indonesia.
-
Proficient in using mobile video editing applications (minimum requirement: CapCut).
-
Applicants must provide links to their Instagram and TikTok accounts.
-
Create a short-form video featuring a brief personal introduction and an explanation of why young people should care about public policy
-
Able to come to CIPS Indonesia’s office.
