Finance and Accounting Executive

 

 

Location: Jakarta, Indonesia

Position Type: Short-term contract: 6 months, with potential extension subject to performance evaluation.

Role Overview

We're looking for a Finance and Accounting Executive who’s analytical, adaptable, and tech- savvy to support our finance department. This position will report directly to the Head of Finance and Administration. Your main priorities will be routine financial reporting (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to CIPS leadership, with all entries, reconciliations, and accruals completed accurately and on time. Further responsibilities include preparing Budget vs. Actual expense reports, updating records, monitoring budgets with department heads and project teams, and serving as main contact for auditors, tax consultants, and bank service representatives. In addition to maintaining and executing finance SOPs, daily finance tasks, and ad-hoc Finance-related projects.

 

The position requires a solutions oriented mindset, systems thinking and strong integrity in compliance. You should have a strong understanding of organizational strategic objectives, and be sensitive to how changes of processes may impact across departments. You are required to have the ability to uphold workflow efficiency, troubleshoot solutions to reduce bottlenecks or issues, and uphold effective teamwork.

Key Responsibilities​

A. Financial Reporting & Month-End Close (Core Task)

  1. Regular Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial reports, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements. 

  2. Month-End Closing: Lead the month-end and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring all journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals are completed accurately and on time.

  3. Management Reporting: Generate monthly management dashboards that summarize current financial status and performance metrics.

 

B. Financial Analysis & Budgeting

  1. BVA Report Generation: Prepare and distribute monthly Budget vs. Actual reports for all departments and projects.

  2. Budget Monitoring: Coordinate with the project team and departments to monitor the utilization of project funds, tracking Budget vs. Actual expenditures, and update monthly budget databases.

 

C. Audit, Compliance, & General

  1. Audit: Serve as the PIC for external auditors, preparing all necessary audit data and ensuring a smooth audit process.

  2. Compliance & General Administration: Assist the Head of Finance with daily administrative and SOP compliance’s tasks across the finance department, as well as ad-hoc projects related to the Finance department.​​​

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Degree: Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Accounting and Finance (S.E. / S.Ak.).

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accounting and/or auditing (financial audit), with experience in generating financial statements.

  • Industry Knowledge: Previous knowledge on PSAK 45 or SSAK 35, or working experience in the Indonesian non-profit sector is highly preferable.

  • Reporting Expertise: Deep understanding of financial statement preparation and accounting principles, as well as the end-to-end budgeting cycle.

  • Certification: Must hold a Tax Brevet A & B certification.

  • Software Proficiency: Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting software (i.e. Jurnal, Accurate, Zahir).

  • English Language Proficiency: Very good English proficiency in both written and verbal business communication (at least with B1 CEFR level on )​

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in English, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Tech-savvy: Ability to learn and use new digital tools (esp. Monday.com and Google Workspace), to find and fix problems, automate routine tasks, and improve teamwork.  Organization-Wide Systems Thinking: Understanding on how different departments work together to improve teamwork and organizational strategic objectives.
