About the event

The Center for Indonesian Study Policy Studies (CIPS) is continuing the discussion on to maximize economic opportunities through the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) in the F&B Industry.Powerhouse

Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Australia have existed for more than 70 years, but trade and investment between the two countries have remained relatively low despites of the  existing opportunities. To optimize potential areas of economic cooperation, it thus becomes important to identify and invest in the economic complementarities between the two countries, through a joint production cooperation called .“Powerhouse”

The powerhouse concept seeks to establish a value chain across the two partner countries in order to produce and supply end products to other countries outside the agreement. IA-CEPA would be particularly suitable for establishing this concept in the food and beverage manufacturing sector, as it can leverage both Indonesia’s substantial food and beverage manufacturing capacity and Australia’s agricultural capabilities.
