About this session
With the Internet and social media continuing to grow in usage across society and the economy, there have been questions raised about how to deal with controversial content. Businesses are concerned about whether policies regulated under the Electronics and Information Law are adequately addressing the responsibility of platforms for user-generated content (UGC) that is considered controversial or illegal. A draft ICT ministerial regulation has circulated to further regulate content moderation but has yet to receive significant and constructive public input. This session promotes dialogue around platform liability and the roles of other stakeholders in the protection and maintenance of a digital society.
