The Policy Roundtable: Unpacking The Neraca Komoditas

The Center for Indonesian Policy Studies (CIPS) invites you to  The Policy Roundtable to discuss the latest public policy developments and its impacts to livelihoods, businesses, and the economy in Indonesia. In this session, we will explore the ongoing development of Neraca Komoditas (NK).

NK was developed by the Ministry of Trade to determine Indonesia’s yearly import and export quotas and permits based on production and consumption data for specific commodities. However, the practical implementation of NK still gives rise to many questions and potentially even widespread negative consequences for Indonesia’s economic recovery. Looking at this case, CIPS is releasing a report that seeks to understand the nuances and potential impacts of the Neraca Komoditas.

Hence, our Associate Researcher, Krisna Gupta, will outline key analysis points on how NK might impact specific industries, businesses of all sizes, and broader governance trends should NK be expanded into other commodity segments.
