The Center for Indonesian Policy Studies (CIPS) as the host of Task Force 4 Think20 (T20) host together with the World Resources Institute (WRI) invite you to discuss policy solutions addressing sustainable landscape management strategies in agriculture.
Around 10 million hectares of forests were cut down each year according to the UN FAO estimation. Large portions of this number are due to clearing and burning to develop monoculture plantations. While the food and agriculture sector remains important, how can the G20 drive sustainable landscape management in agriculture production?
Find out the answer through this discussion with the speakers that will address the challenges and debate between agricultural extensification and intensification, and integrated agricultural planning that allows space for local decision making in landscape uses with policies to support sustainable land management.
Several main questions will be answered through the discussion:
- What factors contribute to the sustainability of landscape management in Indonesia?
- How can the G20 drive sustainable landscape management in agriculture production in Indonesia?
- What and how Indonesia can learn on creating sustainable landscape management from international examples of policies addressing sustainable landscape management?
